Alvar Aalto is, along with Jean Sibelius, the most internationally known Finn. The results of his creative work are still visible in cities and towns. The three-legged Aalto stool is as iconic to Finns as Fazer's blue, and the world finds it here. Petri Laaksonen, editor of Töölöläinen magazine, a few years ago found an interesting little house in his neighborhood in Munkkiniemi in the shade of a wall covered with wild wine and old trees; it was like growing up on its plot. From there began a research trip with a camera around Helsinki. The result was a series of interviews about the people and buildings behind Aalto’s legacy.
