What do Božidar Jakac, Miran Jarc, Anton Podbevšek, Marjan Mušič and Rihard Jakopič have in common? On September 26, 2020, it will be exactly one hundred years since a group of young artists from Novo mesto, together with guests, performed for a day that marked a turning point in both art and life. Novo mesto was awakened by its 1st regional art exhibition, literary recital and music concert, which has subsequently been referred to as the "Novo mesto spring". The exhibition took place in the Windischer Salon in Kandija, Novo mesto, under the auspices of the painter Rihard Jakopič, and was attended by ten artists: Rihard Jakopič, Božidar Jakac, Marjan Mušič, France Zupan, Ivan Čargo, Jože Cvelbar, Zdenko Skalicky, Franjo Ančik, Boris Grad and Ferdo Avsec, along with 337 works of art.
