This book is an introduction to the concept of "corporate culture," and an application the concept as it is defined by Hampden-Turner. In essence, he argues, culture is a way of managing dilemmas, an idea first developed in his "Maps of the Mind," (level nine). The purpose of "creating corporate culture" is business success or the creation of wealth. Most of the book consists of business examples from Hampden-Turner's work as a consultant. The dilemmas of culture are managed by turning "vicious circles" into "virtuous circles." One chapter addresses "national macrocultures," the topic of other books he co-wrote.
