Who Built America? Working People and the Nation’s History is a free, open-access digital resource built by the American Social History Project/Center for Media and Learning. It features a comprehensive social history textbook supplemented by thousands of primary sources drawn from our History Matters website and new teaching resources.

Designed for use in college-level classes and high school Advanced Placement and richly illustrated with hundreds of images, Who Built America? takes a social history approach that is well suited for the US history survey and a range of classes, including labor and immigration history and African American, ethnic, and gender studies.
