"American journalist Jean Fairbairn, on an assignment for Great Scot magazine, is covering a new effort to unravel the mystery of Nessie, Scotland's Loch Ness monster. At the helm of the controversial probe is an American scientist who believes his technology will prove or disprove the monster's existence once and for all. But the locals--who profit from the tourist dollars Nessie brings--are protesting. So is an outspoken environmentalist, as the area is full of ancient Pictish artifacts ... possibly a treasure trove.
